Out of all the art projects in my sculpture class, this last project is different because we had to build our artwork within nature. The objective of this project is to build an obvious, man-made art sculpture within the surrounding areas outside. It was only a two-day project, so the first day we went outside of our school into the fields and woods. Each of us found our own spots where we constructed our sculpture. I picked a tree with many branches as my site to build on. I made a fan-like shape hanging onto the many branches of the tree. The art process was a little hard because there was the wind factor and I couldn't use any tools at all. I gathered light-colored long sticks and I found a Y-shaped thick branch. I propped the Y-shaped branch on some of the hanging branches and surprisingly it was secured. Then, I formed the fan-shape made inside the Y-shaped branch that's on the hanging branch of the tree. I didn't even use leaves or grasses to tie the sticks to the branches. It just stayed up there.
