Ocarina/whistle
To make a whistle out of clay, first I made a small pinch pot(just a half). I covered the bottom of it using a flattened clay just big enough to where I can mold the sides and close it up. I then took a small, cubed clay-that's where you will blow for the whistle to work-and attached it to the side of the half-pinch pot. It should look like the shape of the turtle. Next, I inserted a popsicle stick through the cubed clay and all the way in the hollow pinch pot. Then I traced , on the outside, lines vertically and horizontally making sure it's parallel to the 1st stick I had in there. This will allow me to know where I should cut the squared whole on the flat, bottom side. Make sure that you cut the whole at an angle for better producing-sound. That was the important and main part to this project. Now I made my whistle into a cute, small pig by adding a head since I used the main structure as the pig's body. I made the head of the pig spherical. Then I added two ears by using a little bit of clay free-handedly. Next were the eyes and snout of the pig. All these are just small details. And I also put a tiny bow on its head to make it my own original cute pig! As always, the last part is glazing and firing the clay structure.
